The sailing season
Welcome to the 2017 sailing season at Nantwich and Border Counties Sailing Club, a very busy program which I hope you all find has something in it for every member of the club to enjoy. A brief explanation of the various events planned to help with your enjoyment of the club during 2017 follows.
These start the season and are a way in which members can help the club by mucking in to get all those maintenance jobs done, painting, cleaning Jetties, replacing racing bouys etc. Participation in these events can be claimed against next years membership fee.The first working party is on Saturday 25th Feb.
The club runs a full racing program starting in early March with pursuit races and finishing in mid December with the Frostbite series there are both scratch and handicap trophies to compete for and a real chance for everyone to be a winner. All members are very welcome to join the Sunday afternoon racing scene, exciting, exhilarating, sometimes fast and furious sometimes slow and frustrating but always fun. There are 4 fleets at the club all represented on Sunday afternoons, the 2 handed GP14 class, single handed Laser and Solo classes and a menagerie fleet that sees Mirror dinghies, Comets, Topper and Firefly racing around the pond in 3 races every Sunday afternoon refreshments are served in between races, each race lasts about an hour.
