October News Letter
Last day of the Autumn Points and it was certainly blowing but not as much as forecasted. Richard had already won the Scratch and was leading the handicap with Brian second and others chasing. Could Brian hold off the challenges? Well, yes he could. Not only did he hold off the challenges, he scored 3 firsts on handicap and won it outright. He also scored a first on scratch and it was suggested that this was the first time he had beaten Richard.
Each of the 3 races were won by different people, Brian the first, Richard the second and Chris the third so it turned out to be a really good days sailing.
Did anyone see the shark? Chris lost a large chunk out of the back edge of his centre board in the first race and questions were asked as to what caused it. Luckily, he was able to borrow a replacement of Pete Kean who was on duty.
