Club boats

The Club Fleet consist of:

6 Laser Picos, 2 Lasers, 2 Toppers, 1 RS Feva, 5 GP 14s, 3 Power Boats

Club Sailing Dinghies

The club’s sailing dinghies are available for loan while safety cover is available provided that they are not required for training. You will need to inform the duty officer as they hold the keys. The minimum quantification for loaning a club boat is that the helm holds RYA NSS Level 2 or YSS Stage 2.  Club members who are experienced sailors but do not hold either qualification should contact the training officer to arrange a Direct Assessment. The loan scheme is normally limited to 3 months subject to fair usage.

Laser, Laser Picos and Toppers

  1.  A donation of £5.00  should be made per ½ day session.
  2. They can be used by anyone to further their experience by arrangement with the Training Officer.
  3. They may be used for recorded Club Racing. The Safety Boat (Powered or Sail) must be on the water whilst the Laser Picos or Toppers are being use.
  4. Before use the Boat Use Log book must be completed with details of use. After use, the dinghy must be washed down with clean water before stowing in its allotted position.
  5. A check should be carried out to ensure there is no damage or missing parts from the dinghy. Any incident or damage that may have occurred must be recorded Purple tech log in first aid cupboard.

The Rudder, Jib, Boom and Centre Board are kept in the Bosun’s Store. The sail is rolled onto the mast which is kept in the Dory container. Please release the down haul before stowing the masts.

RS Feva andGP 14s

  1.  A donation of £10.00  should be made per ½ day session.
  2. They can be used by anyone to further their experience by arrangement with the Training Officer.
  3. They may not be used for recorded Club Racing. The Safety Boat must be on the water whilst the Feva or GP 14s are being use.
  4. After use, the dinghy must be washed down with clean water before stowing in its allotted position.  A check should be carried out to ensure there is no damage or missing parts from the dinghy.  Before use, the Log book must be completed with details of use and any incident or damage that may have occurred must be recorded and reported to the training office.

The Rudder, Sails and Centre Board are kept in the Bosun’s Store.

Club Power Boats

The power boats are for use as safety boats and training. This would normally be for formal Sunday Racing, Saturday Leisure Sailing,Ladies Who Launch, Wednesday Leisure Sailing, Dodd Squad and Training Courses but in addition the Committee may authorize the use of power boats by club members who hold a RYA Safety Boat and a first aid qualification.  Please contact  training@nantwichsail.com if you require use of the power boats.

Please be sure to follow the club rules for all sailors
Parents and Juniors – please note, you are taking responsibility for your safety by
* assessing weather conditions
* ensuring safety kit is of adequate standard
* exercising caution on the water
* carefully removing kit from Bosun’s store
* Ensure boats are moved around the boat park safely, using an appropriate number of people.
* when racing using the red ribbon scheme
* parents must remain at the club when their are children are sailing
Please insure that all kit is stowed is a seaman like manor and that the Bosun’s Store and Dory Container are lock after use.
