RYA Powerboat Training Courses

RYA Powerboat and Safety Boat courses are run to assist the main activity of the club (sailing) by providing safe, competent drivers for the rescue boats which accompany leisure sailing and racing sailing at the club.  

Powerboat Level 2 is a 2-day course .  The fee for this course is discounted for club members by £90.  To qualify for the discount, you will need to have paid your club fees and you will be asked carry out Safety boat duties after you are qualified.  The minimum age for this course is 16 years.  Bookings are via Brian Twiddy, his email address is  

The PB2 course will be run on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March 2019.  The Safety boat course will be run on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October 2019.’


Honda RYA Youth RIB images

For under 16’s the Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship takes place at clubs across the UK with weekly training, regional heats and a national final each year at the Southampton Boat Show in September.

A Team from N&BCSC entered for the first time in 2016, with Suzie, Ben and Ewan taking places in North West Area Finals, Details of 2019’s competition will be added soon.
