Set in an area of great natural beauty in the Doddington Estate, Cheshire, we are a local friendly, family club. You can learn to sail or gain a powerboat qualification with our nationally qualified instructors.
We have an active Junior Club, Taster Sessions and safety boat cover for members on Saturdays and Wednesday Evenings and Public Holidays.
There is a well attended Ladies Group who sail on Thursday evenings with a meal afterwards.
We have a full racing program with Fleet and Handicap racing from March to December on Sundays and Wednesday evenings.
We cater for paddle sports including SUP, canoeing and kayaking and we also have a small radio-controlled model yacht group.
We are not just a sailing club!
See below for some of the activities our members enjoy
We have recently added paddle sports to the activities we promote. We include Stand Up Paddling, canoeing and kayaking. The club has its own SUPs that members can try before buying their own.
Crewe and Nantwich Canoe Club are group members and use the lake on Wednesday evenings.
The lake is great place to relax whether it’s to have a picnic or barbecue, watch the sun go down in the evening or do some bird watching. The lake and surrounding area was landscaped by ‘Capability Brown’
The club is recognised by the Royal Yachting Association as a training establishment.
We have a great team of trainers and a fleet of training boats. We run various courses for adults and children as well as ‘taster sails’. We also run power boat and safety boat courses.
Regional & National events
We host a number of Regional and National events including an annual GP14 Open Meeting and a Border Counties Mid-Week Race day.
This year we also had weekends for the ‘lowrider’ Moth class and the Classic and Vintage Dinghy Racing Association.
Schools and clubs
We have group memberships of Crewe Sea Cadets, Nantwich Scouts, Newcastle School and Crewe and Nantwich Canoe Club.
Keele University students also use the lake.
